The best strategies for selling on eBay is simply to watch the sellers that are selling the most products and have the highest feedback. If selling is simple it's not hard to get it right in the feedback department. The seller's eBay feedback is a good indicater either of the ease of selling, or it's an indicatror of the ethics of the seller. Good eBay sellers have good feedback. Study them and put to use the pricinciples that they may have to offer you in your own business.

1. Do your research: find items that you can easily get and that sell at a profit.

2. Study successful auctions on the product. What are their keywords in the title and in the auction. How are they presenting the product?

3. How many days will the auction run. Some sellers use a system of 3 day or 5 day auctions rather than 7 day auctions to boost their turnover and make more money from their listings. Some items need 7 days or even 10 days to sell.

  • Ship on time. Don't start by dilly dallying around with your reputation. Nothing makes a buyer happier than getting what you sold him.
  • Send a notice at every stop. After they buy the item, after you recieve the auction payment, after you ship the item. This goes a long way in customer satisfaction. When you first start out, personalize your auction emails so that they appear to be written to your customer from you. Saying things like "I shipped your item today" is simple and a great way to get personal with your customers. Bidders who think that you are a huge conglomerate will be more likely to leave you neutral or even negative feedback for any incompetancy that you may have. This is a great way to make it personal from the start.
